What we assess first
An evaluation begins with a movement assessment, pain history and observation of gait and footwear. We look for patterns of strain across the foot, calf and Achilles that commonly coincide with plantar fascia irritation and note how your daily routine, work commute or activities contribute to symptoms.
Assessment is focused on identifying modifiable drivers of pain rather than assigning a single cause. That lets us prioritize conservative measures—changes in movement, footwear advice and targeted soft-tissue work—matched to your activity goals and the findings from the initial exam.
Conservative hands-on care
Treatment may include focused soft-tissue work and manual techniques to reduce local tension, plus guided movement retraining where needed. Care emphasizes practical approaches you can use outside the clinic, applied within a single session and adjusted as we learn which measures relieve your symptoms.
Expect a focused 30 MINUTES session that blends hands-on work with direction for what to try at home. Time is used to demonstrate simple exercises, discuss footwear or activity adjustments, and set short-term goals you can follow between visits.
Practical home and activity plans
Recommendations are tailored to your goals—whether you commute through Legacy West, run around Arbor Hills, or stand at work. Typical guidance covers pacing, specific stretches or loading changes, and footwear choices that reduce stress on the arch and heel while you remain active.
Local patterns matter: Plano’s hot summers and active lifestyle influence training and recovery. We factor in your schedule and nearby destinations when advising pre- or post-activity care, and suggest practical strategies you can maintain while commuting or shopping in The Shops at Legacy.
